What is the GEFA Home Energy Rebate Program?
Anderson Heating, Air & Insulation is officially partnering with Green Home South to participate in the GEFA Home Energy Rebate Program. This program helps homeowners AND renters get huge discounts on energy-efficient upgrades like heat pumps, insulation, and electric appliances. If you qualify, you could receive up to $16,000 in rebates!
What Can You Use the Rebate For?
- Home Efficiency Rebates (HER) – Up to $16,000 for making your home more energy efficient (insulation, air sealing, HVAC upgrades, etc).
- Home Electrification & Appliance Rebates (HEAR) – Up to $8,000 for switching from gas to electric appliances such as heat pumps, electric water heaters, electric stoves, and more.*
*This rebate only applies if you're replacing a gas appliance with an electric one.
What Rebates are Available?
- Home Insulation & Air Sealing – Keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer!
- Heat Pumps – A super-efficient heating & cooling system.
- Heat Pump Water Heaters – Lowers water heating costs by up to 50%!
- Electric Stoves & Cooktops – Safer and more energy efficient than gas stoves.
- Breaker Panel Upgrades – Required for some electrification projects.
- Electric Wiring Upgrades – Helps power new electric appliances.
Do I Have to be a Homeowner?
NO! Both Homeowners and Renters Can Qualify!
- Homeowners – You can apply for rebates for upgrades to your primary home.
- Renters – You must have permission from your landlord to make upgrades.
- Landlords – If you own rental properties, you may qualify for rebates on multi-family buildings (50% of tenants must be low-income).
Automatic Qualification -- NO INCOME PROOF NEEDED!
You automatically qualify for the highest rebate amounts if you or anyone in your household is enrolled in one of these programs:
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
- Head Start (Income-Eligible Only)
- National School Lunch Program (Free Lunch Only)
- Lifeline Support for Affordable Communications
- Housing Improvement Program (HIP)
- Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
- HIP or Public Housing, Section 8, or Section 202/811
If you receive benefits from one of these programs, you do NOT need to provide income verification—you automatically qualify!
How Much of a Rebate Can You Get Based on Your Income?

How to Apply & Claim Your Rebate
- Check Your Eligibility - Do you have a qualifying income or are you enrolled in one of the automatic eligibility programs? If yes, you’re
- Get a Free Home Energy Assessment - A participating contractor will inspect your home to see what upgrades you qualify for. This helps you maximize your rebate savings!
- Apply for Rebates - Once your assessment is complete, apply online or through a local community partner.
- Get Your Rebates After Installation - Rebates are applied as discounts upfront – so you pay less out of pocket!
