Family-owned for 48 years. Weβre looking for hardworking, honest technicians and team members who want to build a career β not just punch a clock.
Youβll learn BPI-certified techniques and the full picture of home energy performance β not just βswap the box.β
Work with custom sheet metal equipment and custom fabrication tools right here in Calhoun. Real craftsmanship, not cookie-cutter installs.
We treat our team like family. Competitive pay, respect, and a work environment where your ideas matter.
Anderson Heating, Air & Insulation has been part of the Calhoun community since 1978. When you join our team, you're not a number on a corporate roster three states away β you're joining a local company where the owner knows your name, where your work shows up on your neighbors' homes, and where doing the job right matters more than rushing to the next call. Our roots run deep in Gordon County and across Northwest Georgia, and the people who work here tend to stay because the culture is built on respect, honesty, and craftsmanship.
A typical day depends on your role, but it always starts the same way: with a plan, the right equipment, and a fully stocked truck or a busy shop. We serve homeowners in Calhoun, Dalton, Rome, Cartersville, Adairsville, Chatsworth, Jasper, Ellijay, Fairmount, Resaca and the surrounding Northwest Georgia communities. Because our service area is local, our crews aren't burning hours stuck in highway traffic to far-off job sites β most days you're home for dinner. That's a real quality-of-life difference our team members talk about often, and it's one of the quiet advantages of working for a company that stays close to home instead of chasing work all over the map.
We're also a true whole-home company, not just a "swap-the-box" outfit. That means the work here is more interesting and more varied than a lot of HVAC jobs. One day you might be diagnosing a refrigerant problem on an air conditioner, the next you might be helping seal a leaky duct system, insulating an attic, or fabricating a custom transition in our in-house sheet metal shop. If you like learning how a house actually works as a system β how heating, cooling, airflow, insulation and air sealing all affect each other β you'll find plenty to sink your teeth into.
We hire across several trades and support roles. Whether you're an experienced tech or just starting out with a strong work ethic, there may be a place for you here.
Diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems, track down refrigerant and airflow problems, and keep our customers comfortable year-round. Strong diagnostic skills and clear communication with homeowners go a long way in this role.
Install new heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces and ductless mini-split systems. This is hands-on, detail-oriented work where a clean, correctly sized, properly commissioned install makes all the difference in how a system performs for years to come.
Air-seal and insulate attics, walls and crawlspaces, and help homeowners cut their energy bills. This is the building-science side of our business β measurable, satisfying work that you can feel the moment you step back into a tighter, more comfortable home.
Build custom ductwork, fittings and transitions in our on-site sheet metal shop at 519 Pine Street. If you take pride in precise, perfect-fit fabrication, our shop is one of the few places in the area where that craft is still done in-house.
Answer the phone, schedule jobs, coordinate crews and take great care of our customers from the first call to the final follow-up. Friendly, organized people who genuinely want to help are the heartbeat of our front office.
New to the trade? We're glad to train the right person. If you bring a good attitude and a willingness to learn, you can build real, marketable skills alongside experienced techs and earn certifications as you grow.
Skills can be taught. The things we can't teach are the ones we care about most: showing up on time, being honest with customers and teammates, and taking pride in your work. We'd rather hire someone with a great attitude and a willingness to learn than someone with a long resume and a short fuse.
We especially value people with a building-science mindset β folks who are curious about why a system behaves the way it does, not just how to replace a part. Our whole-home approach rewards people who like to think, diagnose, and solve the root problem instead of slapping on a quick fix.
We believe the best technicians are made, not just hired. Because we approach comfort as a whole-home science, our team has the chance to learn skills that go well beyond a standard install-and-repair shop β from BPI building-science fundamentals and proper load calculations to duct design, air sealing and energy diagnostics. The more you understand how a home performs as a complete system, the more valuable you become, both to our customers and in your own career.
We invest in our people because it makes our work better. Newer team members learn directly from seasoned pros, and there's a genuine path to take on more responsibility over time. If you want to grow into a lead technician, a crew leader, or specialize in the energy-efficiency side of the business, the opportunity is here for people who earn it. Want to understand the kind of work you'd be doing day to day? Take a look at our services and read our story to see how the company grew from a heating-and-air shop into a whole-home energy company.
One of the biggest differences between Anderson and a far-flung regional outfit is how close to home our work stays. Our customers are our neighbors. The school your kids attend, the diner you grab lunch at, the church down the road β those are the same communities our team lives in and serves. That keeps the commutes short, the days predictable, and the work meaningful. When you do a great job here, you hear about it at the grocery store, not just on a survey.
It also means the reputation you help build is one you can stand behind. Anderson has earned a 4.8-star rating across more than 640 reviews from homeowners across Northwest Georgia, and every one of those reviews reflects the work of real people on our team. Being part of that β being trusted by the place you call home β is something a paycheck alone can't buy. To learn more about the company and the family behind it, visit our about page.
Anderson Heating, Air & Insulation is the evolution of John Anderson Service Company. Founded in 1978, we updated our name to reflect the full scope of whole-home energy work β but our values and family culture have never changed.
Applying with Anderson is refreshingly simple β no endless online portal, no automated screening robot. We're a family-owned company, and we like to talk to real people. If you think you'd be a good fit, the fastest way to start the conversation is to give us a call at (706) 629-0749 and tell us a little about yourself and the kind of work you're looking for. You're also welcome to stop by our shop at 519 Pine Street in Calhoun, GA, or send your information through our contact page.
When you reach out, it helps to let us know what role interests you, your experience level, and whether you hold any relevant certifications or licenses β but don't let a thin resume hold you back. If you're new to the trade and bring the right attitude, tell us that too; we're glad to train people who are eager to learn. We review every inquiry and follow up with candidates we'd like to learn more about. Even if we don't have an immediate opening that matches your background, we keep good people in mind as the company grows, so it's always worth getting in touch.
