The Short Answer

Georgia's Home Efficiency Rebates (HER) program is still accepting applications and rewards whole-home projects such as insulation, air sealing, duct sealing and efficient HVAC, scaled to the energy they save. HEAR is currently limited: electrical wiring and panel work must be paired with another qualifying measure. The federal 25C tax credit ended for work placed in service after 2025. For a Fairmount home, the first step is a short pre-screen with our team to see whether your project may be a candidate.

Plain-English Explainer

What HER and HEAR Are For

HER · Open

Home Efficiency Rebates

Rewards whole-home energy-savings projects such as insulation, air sealing, duct sealing and efficient HVAC upgrades, scaled to how much energy the project is modeled or measured to save. The deeper the savings, the larger the potential rebate. Generally available across income levels.

HEAR · Limited

Home Electrification & Appliance Rebates

Helped income-qualified households move to efficient electric equipment such as heat pumps, electric water heating and panel upgrades. Under current guidance, electrical wiring and panel work must be paired with another qualifying measure rather than done on its own.

Energy Assessments for Fairmount Homes

Fairmount is southeast of our Calhoun shop. We're a family-owned company working out of our shop at 519 Pine Street in Calhoun, and the technician who comes to your Fairmount home is one of our own, not a subcontractor.

Our scheduling system shows 490 completed jobs for Fairmount customers as of August 13, 2026, 9 of them in the previous 90 days. These are job records with a Fairmount billing address, not unique customers, and our records start with our 2022 system move, not 1978.

Utility rebates depend on who supplies your power, not on your town. Depending on the address, a Fairmount home may be served by City of Calhoun Utilities, North Georgia EMC, Amicalola EMC or Georgia Power, and each runs its own programs. North Georgia EMC members can use TVA EnergyRight programs, and as a participating TVA EnergyRight contractor we can help with them. Georgia Power customers have its Home Energy Improvement Program. Amounts and rules change often, so we check what applies to your address before you buy anything.

Who Qualifies

Who Generally Qualifies and How It Works

Every home and household is different, but here's the general picture for HER:

  • Open across income levels. The rebate scales with the energy savings your project achieves, so deeper whole-home work can earn more.
  • Existing homes. The program is aimed at existing homes you own and live in, though landlords may have paths too.
  • Documented savings. A qualified contractor assesses the home, documents the starting point, does the work to program standards and documents the result.

Dollar amounts, qualifying measures, funding and deadlines are set by state and federal agencies, not by Anderson, and they change. We won't quote a figure we can't stand behind. Our team can explain the current income limits and requirements during the pre-screen. Final eligibility is determined by the program administrator.

How Anderson Helps

How Anderson Helps With HER Projects

Anderson is an approved participating contractor for Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates and has been since the programs launched. We start your application, guide you through your part of it, and a qualified technician performs the assessment the program requires.

Rebate programs reward documented, measured energy savings, and that is what BPI certification is built around. We perform a home energy assessment, including a blower-door test to measure how leaky your home is, and tie those numbers to a plan. When we size a new heat pump or HVAC system with a Manual J load calculation, the numbers come from real measurements.

  • Home energy assessment: find what may qualify before you spend.
  • Blower-door testing: measure how leaky your home is.
  • Right-sized equipment: heat pumps and HVAC sized from real data.
  • Documentation: before-and-after measurements and equipment records for your submission.

Final eligibility and approval are determined by the program administrator. More on our BPI certification.

The Smart Order

Do the Work in the Right Order

  • Start with a home energy assessment. Measure where the home is losing energy before you spend on equipment, and find out what may qualify.
  • Seal and insulate what makes sense. Often the lowest-cost, highest-return work, and a common part of HER projects.
  • Re-run the load calculation. A tighter home often needs a smaller, less expensive system than the one you were quoted.
  • Then install HVAC. Your new system is right-sized, and we line up the incentives you legitimately qualify for.

If your home is already tight and your system simply failed, we'll tell you that too and get you comfortable fast.

FAQ

Energy Rebate Questions from Fairmount Homeowners

What energy rebates can Fairmount homeowners use right now?

Georgia's Home Efficiency Rebates (HER) program is open and rewards whole-home projects based on the energy they save. HEAR is currently limited: electrical wiring and panel work must be paired with another qualifying measure. The federal 25C tax credit ended for work placed in service after 2025. Utility programs depend on your power provider, so we check what applies to your Fairmount address.

Who qualifies for Georgia home energy rebates?

HER is generally available across income levels and is tied to your project’s modeled energy savings. Income limits, qualifying measures and funding are set by state and federal agencies and change, so we don’t quote fixed numbers here. Our team can explain the current income limits and requirements during a short pre-screen, and final eligibility is determined by the program administrator.

Which upgrades may qualify for HER?

There’s no fixed list. HER is based on an energy model of your home and its projected whole-home savings, and the model shows which improvements fit. Potential measures include insulation, air sealing, duct sealing, HVAC and heat pumps, water heaters, and replacement windows and doors, usually as part of a whole-home project. No improvement qualifies automatically, and HVAC-only projects aren’t approved as standalone HER projects.

How does the Georgia energy rebate process work?

Anderson starts the process. After a short pre-screen and our internal review, we start your application; you complete your sections, submit your own income documentation and provide 12 months of power bills. Then a qualified technician assesses the home, the energy model identifies improvements that may qualify, and the work and documentation follow program requirements. Final eligibility and approval are determined by the program administrator.

Do I need to apply with the state before contacting Anderson?

No. Contact our team first. After a short pre-screen and our internal review, Anderson starts the application and guides you through the sections you complete yourself, including your own income documentation and 12 months of power bills.

Will the home energy assessment cost anything?

Assessment costs depend on your household and project. Our team explains how they apply to you during the pre-screen, before any assessment is scheduled.

Does Anderson handle the assessment and paperwork?

Yes. Anderson is an approved participating contractor for Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates and has been since the programs launched. A qualified technician performs the assessment the program requires, including blower-door and safety testing and an energy model, and we help with the application portal and the documentation for your submission. Final eligibility and approval are determined by the program administrator.

What happens after I send a rebate inquiry?

Our team will review your information and follow up regarding the next steps. That usually starts with a short pre-screen about your household, your power bills, your home and the improvements you’re considering. An assessment isn’t scheduled until your application and documents are in place.

Do I have to replace my whole HVAC system to get a rebate?

No. Weatherization work such as insulation and air sealing can be part of an HER project without replacing your HVAC. In fact, HVAC-only projects aren’t approved as standalone HER projects; equipment counts as part of a whole-home plan. We build a step-by-step plan around your budget rather than pushing one big purchase.

Do replacement windows or crawlspace work qualify?

They can, but not automatically. Windows and doors may be included when the energy model shows they’re part of the scope needed to reach the required savings. Crawlspace work can qualify when the model calls for eligible insulation, air sealing or other building-envelope measures.

Can Anderson help with HER rebates in Fairmount?

Fairmount is in Gordon County, the primary focus of our HER work. A qualified technician from our shop in Calhoun performs the assessment once your application and documents are in place. Call (706) 629-0749 or send a rebate inquiry, and our team will review your information and follow up regarding the next steps. Final eligibility and approval are determined by the program administrator.
